The 41st edition was published of Regional Trends – a comprehensive regular source of official statistics for the statistical regions of the United Kingdom (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Government Office Regions within England). It included a wide range of demographic, social, and economic statistics, covering aspects of life in the regions. The national proportion of children in households where no one was employed stood at 15 per cent: in London, however, the figure rose to 23 per cent.
